EDUCATION
Junior high school is free of charge in Indonesia. Unfortunately however books, transport fares and schooluniforms are not. For this reason many children drop out after elementary school, due to the fact that parents are not able to pay for these costs. In cooperation with Puri Ganesha villas the Pemuteran foundation will support a project that will support further education for the local children.
The project is founded by two local intelligent young men who understand the need and advantage of education. They select children living under the poverty line and give them the chance to continue their education. Puri Ganesha villas funds this program through a system where the guests adopt the children for three years. The Pemuteran Foundation will sponsor 15 children and will also support the so-called side project, in which children will receive extra education regarding issues which are relevant for the Pemuteran area, such as health, the environment, English lessons etc.
