WATER SUPPLY
In Pemuteran, a lot of people do not have direct access to the water which is necessary for their individual use, for the land and for their livestock. Recent testing also demonstrated that the main water supply (a hot spring) provides water that doesn't meet the "normal" minimum quality standards.
The Pemuteran Foundation wants to change this, and ensure that these Pemuteran families are supplied with the clean water that they need. This will be achieved through a method known as "drilling for water", which involves a machine drilling for water on location to a depth of approximately 50 metres. A pump is then mounted on the pipe so that the water can be brought to the surface, where it is finally stored in reservoirs with a 2,200 litre capacity. These water stations will be placed on different locations in the Pemuteran village. The water stations will also be provided with information boards which will provide information on hygiene, diseases etc.
